*Exciting announcement*

As we prepare to reopen our restaurant on Saturday 4th July, we can assure you that we are doing everything possible to keep you and our team safe. We are implementing all safety measures as below. 

Risk assessments have been carried out to ensure good and safe working procedures. 

We will be open for pre booked tables only. When you telephone to book, we will allocate a time slot at your preferred time.

There will be at least 10 minutes between each booking per table. This enables us to thoroughly clean the table & chairs for the next booking. 

We are also introducing free standing screens around the restaurant to keep us all safe as recommended.

All staff will be trained in how to safely take your order and deliver your food to your table. Those staff will be wearing relevant PPE.

We have hand sanitiser for use at the entrance and also in the restaurant. 

The toilet areas will be cleaned & sanitised regularly. 

As per government guidelines we will be required to take names and contact details of all our guests and keep them on record for the purpose of “Track & Trace”. They will be kept secure and will not be used for any other purposes and will be destroyed as soon as we are able to. 

All we ask is that you are patient with us as we are learning too. There may be things that we have to tweak as we go along. Feedback is always welcome!!!

Please give the Staff Member posted outside your booking name and you will be shown to your table.

We have been working hard behind the scenes working out the best way to reopen and continue to serve you all!!!!!

We’ve thought long and hard to think of the best way we can work to keep our staff and you our customers safe.

Therefore,here is the way we will be operating for the foreseeable future.

We have installed a screen on the counter and only be allowing one customer in at a time to order and collect your takeaway.

We will mark out queue spots so people can wait responsibly. We shall have a staff member outside with whom you can order anything cooking a certain way or if you would like anything other than normal fish and chips. They can then relay this to the fryer to cut down your wait. 

Due to social distancing we can only have one person on the counter wrapping up your order so please be patient. We shall be cleaning down regularly and have best hygiene practises in place.

We shall be taking contactless/card payments only at this time. We are unable to accept cash.

For customers who are self isolating due to medical issues only.

We will accept telephone orders. We have sectioned off a couple of spots in the car park. Please call 01132646853 and place your order then pay over the phone. A member of staff will bring out your order and place it on the table next to the car park space. You can then collect it without any contact.

11.30 until 8.00

We will see how this works, if we need to adjust these practices or hours we will post on Facebook with any update.

The Skyliner Fish and Chip Shop is one of the oldest established and well known fish shops in Leeds, having been around for nearly 60 years.

The name Skyliner originated from New York.

Johnny's wife Ellen, while visiting family there came across Skyliner Diner - the name immediately appealed to her in neon lights and the rest, as they say, is history.


We pride ourselves on buying only the best wild caught haddock and best quality potatoes, cooked in the finest beef dripping, and of course there's the batter ... well that's a secret!
